Baby, it's gettin' cold outside! All three of my children were winter babies and while it isn't my favorite time of year weather wise, it really can be picture perfect beautiful. So forget about the bitter cold temps and the chilling winds, celebrate the mom-to-be and her bundle of joy with a gorgeous winter themed celebration.

Snow Baby

Think snowflakes, lots and lots of snowflakes. They're inexpensive, easy to make, and beautiful when hung in bunches. Decorate tables with glass bowls of white flowers like baby's breath, and just make everything beautifully crisp like a fresh fallen snow. Cotton balls in glass jars, fluffy white cupcakes, white garlands, and snowflake sugar cookies with white icing and sparkly sprinkles. Make the furniture super comfy with white, fluffy pillows and blankets.

Ice Princess (or Prince)

Sparkles, sparkles, sparkles. Celebrate the little one for the princess she is with crystals in windows and a tiara on the cake. Decorate with tulle around the tables, put glitter everywhere (even edible glitter on the cupcakes), and use sparkly jewelry to decorate crystal vases of white roses.

Peppermint Babes

Red and white stripes like peppermint candy are a sure sign of the season. Use them as inspiration for your shower decorations and foods. Top cupcakes with bits of peppermint and create sweet treats like star mint meringues. Decorate with candy canes in vases, candy canes stuck together to make hearts, and red and white Christmas ornaments in glass jars. White and red tissues balls can hang from the ceiling and candy cane garlands will look sweet on the table.

Silver Bells

Silver is one of the most brilliant winter colors. Think silver bells and lots of reflective light. For a baby girl, silver and pink look amazing together. And for baby boys, silver and yellow make a splash. Decorate cookies and cakes with silver icing or frosting. Decorate tables with silver bells and hang silver snowflakes and balls from the ceiling.

Come in from the cold, and get to work on baby shower themes that keep the party warm and cozy and celebrate the new mommy and baby.
