Father's Day is just around the corner, so it's time to start thinking about what you can do to honor that special man in your life. If your children are young, they will likely have already created a colorful paper tie or perhaps an adorable handprint card at school to give to Dad. But Dad's counting on you to come through with the gifts that he REALLY wants this Father's Day… and best of all, these gifts are free.
His Favorite Meal
Someone very wise once said, "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach" — and this old adage still holds true. Father's Day is the time to not only make him his favorite meal (while he relaxes on the couch) but also to dazzle him with his favorite dessert. I know that I will be baking a decadent multi-layer chocolate cake smothered in rich chocolate frosting. . Looking for inspiration? His Favorite Sweet Treat
What he wants more than anything… is YOU! Preferably wrapped up in a pretty package, if you get my drift. So get those kids tucked into bed, and then take a moment to doll yourself up for him. Turn off the TV and make it an evening to remember. (Isn't this how this whole parenthood thing got started?)
His Favorite Indulgence
Dad would love a chance to spend a few hours engaging in whatever it is that interests him, whether that's watching the big game on TV, playing 18-holes with his buddies, or diving into a non-stop marathon of his favorite TV series. It's not for us to judge… it's for us to indulge! So get your man all set up in his comfy chair and set out the snacks for his very own Dad-friendly "spa treatment."
From all of us at Parenting Squad to all of the great Dads in our lives… Happy Father's Day!
