I'm mom to Jayla (7) and Nasir (3) and wife to Jamel for 5.5 years now. Before becoming an at-home mom 4 years ago I worked in the corporate world for a year, before that I was a student at Colorado State studying journalism. My first love is writing but I also enjoy photography, reading, and traveling. i'm happiest sitting on a beach with my journal in hand and my family slathered in sunscreen playing in the sand.

As I close in on 30 it seems life is really getting interesting for me with creativity for my writing flowing like never before and coming into myself in a way that is very freeing. All the while I'm raising wonderful people and crazy in love with a man I've been with for 11 years. Life is good and I'm just trying to keep my eyes wide open long enough to take it all in!
