Carrie is a stay-at-home mother to two girls, a preschooler and a baby. She is also a freelance writer and a former full-time newspaper reporter. And on the Chicago Moms Blog at http://svmomblog.typepad.com/chicago_moms/.In the past two years, Carrie transformed from a working mother of one living in the city of San Francisco to a stay-at-home mother of two living in the near suburbs of Chicago. She misses the nanny, the rock-climbing gym and being able to walk to any neighborhood in town, not to mention the weather. But in her new home, Carrie has two sets of grandparents for her kids, a real house, and a neighborhood free of used needles and poopy sidewalks. Life's fulla crazy tradeoffs, huh?  If her kids ever stop aggravating her for 5 minutes, Carrie aspires to complete a novel, publish some of her short fiction, write more poetry just for the hell of it, expand her freelance work, and get back to the traveling, skiing and rock climbing she used to love in her old life.
