Presidents' Day is upon us, which for many families, means a three day weekend! Once you catch up on laundry, we found some super fun activities to celebrate President's Day. You and your kids can enjoy this extra time together and you'll all learn a thing or two about the history of the United States and Presidents Washington and Lincoln.

Presidential Cookies

These super easy to make cookies from Party Pinching are adorable and delicious. All you need is Nilla Wafers (a favorite with my kids), some marshmallows, chocolate chips, a chocolate bar, and an edible marker. You and your kids will be so proud of your creations.

Log Cabin

Recreate President Lincoln's log cabin with pretzels, crackers, and peanut butter. This project from Martha Stewart is easy for kids, great for motor skills, and absolutely adorable.

Presidential Timeline

Perfect for older children, these presidential timelines for Lincoln and Washington from Deceptively Educational highlight 14 milestones from their lives. Using paint sticks and Velcro, your children can create an educational craft that would make their teacher proud.

Presidential Lunch

This healthy and fun Presidents' Day lunch from Cookie Cutter Lunch is easy to make. It features star shaped watermelon and cucumbers, a President Washington sandwich, and the American colors of red, white, and blue.

Fingerprint Cherry Tree

Tell your children the story of George Washington and the cherry tree and the importance of honesty. Then make this fingerprint cherry tree from DLTK Kids. Finger painting is an exciting activity for little kids and you'll both have a ton of fun.

Make some time with your kids this weekend and work on some fun projects together. You'll be surprised how still they will sit with you and learn something new.
