I'm not that easily impressed by free web greetings these days. I used to love them, but in the age of iPhones and Google Android, they're a bit dated. However, this one really caught me by surprise. And when my daughter saw it, she had a huge Cheshire Cat grin. It's a VERY personalized video message from Santa!

Every year, over 650,000 children are reported missing. It's a horrible statistic, one that I hope none of you are ever a part of. So, request your FREE Child Safe ID Kit and get a little extra help at a time when you need it most.

As a young lad, I remember my training wheels all too well. I loved them. The security they gave me to fly around corners with ease was awesome. Then, one day, I had to ride without them and felt like certain death was imminent at any moment. Therein lies the problem with training wheels, and perhaps the reason they may soon die out altogether.

If it were a sick April Fool's Day joke, it wouldn't have been funny, either. But this was no joke. A few days ago, the Baby Shaker application for the iPhone appeared on the app site for 99 cents. And the game is simple...when you can't stand the baby crying any more, start shaking. There are no words to describe this kind of irresponsibility.

“Grrreaatt!” said Olivia, “this book is gonna be mine forever!” Isla looked on with an orange-slice smile. “Yeah! I want another one book. More book please!” That was the consensus of my two little girls, and I had to agree.

The phenomenon that is Kate Gosselin, hubby Jon and their eight children has made for interesting television over the years. But there’s a question that keeps cropping up over and over again – “is this still an innocent documentary, or has it morphed into something much more exploitative?”

I've always been easy on my two little girls, but recently it occurred to me that I've been a little too easy on them. I play the part of the good cop, my wife teaching them more about life than I do. And I finally came to realize the other day that I may just have to start beating them. I'm talking, of course, about competitive games.

Unless you’ve been on Jupiter for the last few months, you’ll know the story of Nadya Suleman. Already a mother of six children, Nadya gave birth to octuplets in late January, a result of some very questionable in vitro fertilization practices. And the whole thing is winding me up.

This may come as common sense to many of you, but it’s an important story and one I felt I had to share. I hope it encourages all of you to trust your gut reaction as a parent or guardian and do what’s right, even when it’s easier to do nothing.

A conversation bubbled up today between myself and a few colleagues at work. It was about illness, in particular measles and mumps. Then out of nowhere, a good friends said “and they’re even having Chicken Pox parties now.” Wait, what? A party where you go to get Chicken Pox? It couldn’t be true, could it? Well, it is true.

I was happy when tagless shirts came out, I hated that scratchy feeling. I figured my girls did as well, and resorted to cutting the tags out of clothing until the tagless shirts came along. But it seems some babies and smaller children are having very nasty reactions to the ink used in the tagless clothing.

Once upon a time, it was Pig-Latin. These days, the Internet has created several ways for both children and adults to communicate with each other. In part one of this series, I'll give you a list of the most common acronyms or "initialisms" that your children are using daily, via the web and phone. Some of these you will be familiar with already; some may shock you.

It all seems like some crazy practical joke or belated April Fool’s gag, but this one is real. Kellogg’s have teamed up with Lego to produce what can only be described as the most dangerous idea for a kid’s snack…ever.

As a regular writer for our sister blog Wisebread, this article goes against every frugal bone in my body. It pains me to even think about it but the result is worth it, even if it hurts my wallet and my idea of getting more bang for your buck. When it comes time for gifts, you can stop a lot of arguments by buying the same thing for every kid.

I have been blessed with two beautiful baby daughters, but the path to fatherhood, for me anyway, was not always easy. Thank goodness I had the help of some wonderful visual aids in the form of two magnificent books.
