Diapers and wipes are a fact of life if you have a young child. Unfortunately, so is the expense that goes with them. Kids are worth it, of course, but why not save where you can? After all, there's still college, clothes, insurance and everything else to plan and pay for!

Here's a three-step process on how to save up to 50% on your child's diapers and wipes.

Step 1: Amazon.com has recently launched a new free program called Amazon Mom. (Dads and anyone else who is a caregiver can sign up too). This program lets you automatically save 15% on diapers wipes and formula. You can sign up for that here.

Step 2: Amazon's free subscribe and save option lets you save an additional 15%. When you choose subscribe and save it means that Amazon will automatically ship you the same products every month or two until you tell them to stop. You'll keep getting both discounts. If you just want to try it out, you can cancel subscribe and save after your first order (or any time your child changes sizes) and reset it the next time you need something. So, you're up to an automatic 30% off. Subscribe and save shipping is always free, so that's one less expense too.

Step 3: Watch for sales. Amazon periodically runs diapers, wipes and formula up to 20% off — which stacks with every other discount you'll be getting. Right now, Amazon is running it's Fall Blowout Sale which does include some discounts on diapers, wipes and formula. If you end up reading this after the fall sale is over, you can still get the automatic 30% off with Amazon plus the free shipping.
