February is a month full of opportunities to educate children on both health and history. From sites for teachers and parents from the American Dental Association, to information from the American Heart Association to history lessons from the Smithsonian, parents can choose the activities, books, and lessons to reinforce children's knowledge in the areas this month celebrates.

Heart Month

In recent years, there has been an emphasis on the fact that women, just like men, suffer from heart disease. The American Heart Association's Go Red For Women site contains specific information for women to be proactive in guarding the health of their heart, and their bodies. It is never too early to teach daughters the importance of a healthy heart. Go to the site with them and check out the recipes, exercise advice, and stories from others.
