Great Post

Fred, I agree with you. Completely. I wish more Dads got as involved with their kids as you are (and, thankfully, my husband, too!). We get strange reactions from family and friends when we talk about how much I work, how much Don contributes to raising the kids, and how we share the parenting/household responsibilities rather than take on the more traditional roles.
Reading blogs from other Dads, I get the sense things are changing, but they're not quite there yet. But, I hope they do.
Just an aside, most of my playground buddies are SAHD's (as most of the Moms around here just send nannies), and the concept makes me giddy.
My husband would LOVE to have the opportunity to stay home with our kids, but he too might have a bit of trouble keeping the house in order. I'll definitely try your tactic next time I'm on assignment, leaving him alone and in charge!
