Hi Rene, thanks for visiting and commenting! And thanks for mentioning that you see the cultural bias that I see.
I love the fishing and cooking ideas -- it's great to mix up the perceived feminine with the perceived masculine, though I'd prefer not to have to bait the hook with live worms (I have learned though that there are different types of bait depending on the type of fishing). I have not yet gotten into the cooking shows though know manly men who do, even one who used a pancake recipe on a joint family camping trip. And a fine dining excursion sounds like fun -- to give (or reinforce) lessons in etiquette. So, there are things that moms may be uniquely suited to teach their sons.
