i am in your camp here, too. what i really wanted to communicate in this article, was the lack of public knowledge on how to handle these bulbs. would i mind the bulbs if i weren't the preggy mom of a toddler? nope. but i'm just shocked there aren't booklets or clear instructions on how to handle these bulbs on the packaging. and i've read there are led lights that are better for the (inner)environment. we need to build a better light bulb, but in the meantime, warning labels on the cfl's would be great. so many moms on sites i visited would never have bought the bulbs if they were aware of the risk. is that fair?
plus...there are the hazards to the environment that these bulbs pose when improperly disposed. poisoned land and water are bad.
still...i know it's a problem. this has been my most exciting dialog yet. thanks for the comments!!
