Actually, now that you mentioned it...
I've read several articles that explain how vinegar can eliminate urine odors in rugs. Just add equal parts vinegar and cool water, soak the spot, and blot it up with some paper towels.
Also, if your dog has ear problems, you can use the diluted vinegar mixture to gently wipe the inside of the ear,
