Feliz Cinco de Mayo! You don't have to have a drop of salsa in your blood to celebrate this Mexican holiday. Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is NOT Mexican Independence Day. Instead, it commemorates a great Mexican army victory in 1862 and is celebrated more widely in the US than it is in Mexico itself. To many Americans, it's a great excuse to drink a margarita or two and let loose with the guacamole -- and that's okay, too!
Here's a list of some fun online resources if you want to share a little "ole" with your family. Do all or just one or two to make your Cinco de Mayo fun:
Food. One of the easiest ways to celebrate today is with some Mexican goodies. This site has everything from easy guacamole to Mexican hot chocolate, to Mexican sugar cookies. DLTK's Recipes
