Battle the Bug with Kleenex Anti-Viral Tissues...and a GIVEAWAY!

While there's no need to panic about the Swine Flu, it is important that we make it a habit to take precautions to prevent illness in general. It's not just something to think about right now, or during the regular flu season, but all year long. It's simply an unavoidable fact that we share the world with many living things, including bacteria and viruses that can make us sick.

Kleenex has come out with a timely product, to help us to Battle the Bug - Kleenex Anti-Viral Tissues. It'll help us keep our germs to ourselves by killing the viruses in the tissue. That means less germs to pass along to someone nearby.

I always have OJ on hand, and I am an advocate of handwashing.

We battle the bug by making sure to wash our hands often. Whenever we come in the house, either from work, school or the stores, etc. we all wash our hands. Our kids now do this automatically, whenever they come in.

I work at a hospital and can't escape the sickies, so I wash my hands frequently and do what I can to prevent hurting my immune system, so not much booze and eating well, getting sleep (sometimes).

I know everybody else is talking about hand washing but these days its importance cannot be stressed enough. I wash my hands every opportunity I get.

I volunteer quite a bit at my daughter's school and I am very diligent about handwashing before and after my time in the classroom. Kids are germy little creatures and I found I didn't catch all the colds and bugs going around so much if I stepped up the handwashing and Vitamin C.

We are handwashers! I've also taught my 3-yo DS to sneeze/cough into the crook of his arm. Hopefully he'll rub off on his classmates and friends.

My family washes their hands to the count of happy Birthday, takes vitamin C by adding True Lemon, True Lime, or True Orange to their fluids.

There is a simple solution to keeping the flu away...wash your hands often, eat healthy and get plenty of good sleep. And if any member of my family starts showing signs of getting sick, its time for dr mom to prescribe the 3 S's--- soup, sleep and soap (wash those hands!). It must work as the flu has not hit our home in may years.

I am teaching the rest of my family when they have to cough or sneeze not to cover their mouth with their hands (they would simply spread the germs to everything they touched) but to "cough into the inside of the elbow". I either read this or heard this somewhere and it made a lot of sense to me.

Despite what many so-called "green" advocates have to say about triclosan and other antibacterial agents, the fact remains that triclosan and its analogues DO kill germs! I don't think the case has been adequately made for the general public to stop using these products just because some believe that their MIGHT be environmental consequences by their usage, especially when weighed against a mountain of scientific evidence showing that antimicrobial products DO prevent the spread of disease!

I've heard it said that a mountain man's hands are sometimes cleaner or healthier to eat off of than a Doctor's. A Doctor washes and sanitizes his hands way more than is healthy.The human body co-exists with many different kinds of microbes and they actually assist us in healthy living. It is when the bad microbes take over the good ones when sickness develops. I don't like to over protect my self from the outside world and from those microbes that are doing me good. When a disease is known about and spreading, I am careful to make sure I wash my hands more and not touch my nose or mouth until I have done so. The rest of the time I try to make sure I have a healthy balance of microbes on and in my body, although Anti-viral Kleenex is a great innovation for helping ward off the bad microbes when a disease is spreading.

I have battled Lyme disease and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome...I know how important it is to have a strong immune system! I try to eat healthy foods, take a daily multi-vitamin AND extra vitamin C, wash hands often & try to get enough rest (not easy with a 4 year old AND a teenager!) I also carry hand-wipes with me everywhere for my little one - and use them myself too!

My kids (5 yrs and 2 yrs) know the drill - the minute we walk into the house, we take off shoes (and coats in winter) and then wash hands. My son even reminds his friends to do it when they come over!
Lately I've been using sanitizer in the car after each trip too, and I'm supplementing our vitamin D3 on top of our normal multivitamins since we're all deficient and vitamin D is supposed help your immune system work more efficiently without overstimulating it.

Thank goodness for all these new sanitizing tools. With all the disease floating around, I need all the help I can get to stay healthy.

We wash our hands often and I carry Purel in my purse for those times when soap and water aren't easily accessible. Some of the grocery stores offer wipes next to the shopping carts to wipe off the car handle and I always use those and wash my hands when I leave. Also take a multivitamin daily and drink plenty of OJ.

I use alcohol wipes to clean shopping cart handles and my hands frequently while shopping. There are so many germs to be picked up when you shop.
