Before my baby was born, our doctor informed us that newborns will be screened at birth for a variety of diseases. They do this by taking some blood from the baby's heel and running a variety of tests. A recent CNN article confirmed that the government keeps our babies' DNA acquired from these newborn screenings, and this raises many privacy issues.
