Clipping coupons is a thing of the past - thanks to modern technology. These days, you can add coupons to your store savings cards, and download apps that allow you to save money in a click. Here are some of our favorites.

1. Ibotta

Ibotta is a simple app that shares deals you can get at different stores. Simply buy those items, scan their barcode and the receipt, and you’ll earn money back. Once you reach $20, you can have it deposited into your PayPal account, or turn it into gift cards for stores including Starbucks and Amazon.

2. Checkout 51

Checkout 51 is similar to Ibotta, but you don't need to shop at specific stores. You simply shop and scan barcodes after you get home. There’s even a Pick Your Own Offer option for cash back on the fruit and veggies you buy. You can request your cash back when you reach $20.

3. MobiSave

MobiSave gives you money back on everything from fruit to cereal. Just click on the items you bought and scan the item and receipt.

4. SavingStar

SavingStar allows you to put coupons onto your store cards. Click on the retailer and choose your savings — then shop. No clipping required.

5. Store App

Certain stores even have their own apps, including Stop and Shop. Their app allows you to view the current deals, add store coupons to your shopping card, and you can even use the ScanIt app to scan your items as you shop and get even more deals. Check to see if your favorite grocery store has one.

Saving on groceries has come a long way since your mother was running through the store with you in tow. Now, it’s easier than ever to shop, with or without the kids.
